Registration Spring 2026

Important Fall Semester Changes

Teen Company Updates: This semester we will not necessarily double all roles in Teen Company. Our focus will be on creating the cleanest, strongest show possible while also saving time each week for workshops with guest artists. Students will also have daily warm-ups and a stronger technique-driven focus built into rehearsals.

How Teen Company Placement Works: Everyone interested in Teen Company should register for Young Company A first. If a student is not placed in Teen Company, they will automatically remain in Young Company A where they can continue building their skills. PLEASE make sure and sign up for young company if you want to be guaranteed a spot in CTC’s frozen

What We Value Most: The most important qualities for Teen Company are a consistently positive attitude, singing on pitch, being prepared, and being brave. We strongly suggest students also take outside voice and dance lessons whenever possible.

Why We Created Teen Company: Many of our students take musical theater very seriously and are eager to grow at a high level. It is important for those students to be in a room with other like-minded performers who are equally committed, prepared, and excited to work. Teen Company is designed to give those students a focused environment where dedication, growth, and artistic ambition can thrive together.

Young Company Will Always Exist: We will always have our non-audition Young Company groups on T/TH and M/W for students who are not yet ready for the intensity of Teen Company or who are looking for a strong training experience with a different pace and structure. Young Company remains a vibrant, creative, and joyful place to grow.

Auditions for Teen Company Will be Held May 31st and you can sign up here. We will also be doing another round August 1st if there are more spots to fill. The August 1st date will only happen if we do not fill so please do not wait. EVERYONE will need to audition to get into Teen Company each semester. This way we make sure students do not become complacent

Casting

Casting Policy

Updated: October 2025

Casting is a complex and thoughtful process. At Center Theater Company (CTC), we do not accept parental complaints about casting decisions. When a parent challenges a casting choice, they are, in effect, suggesting that another child should not have been given the role they received. This is unfair to the children and to the process.

How Casting Works Across Programs

  • Early Entertainers & Jr. Company: Larger roles are rotated more frequently to give many students the opportunity to grow.
  • Young Company: Effort, ability, and audition performance begin to play a stronger role in casting decisions.
  • Teen Company: Preparation and the ability to fully inhabit a role weigh most heavily in casting.

The Value of Ensemble

It is not a platitude when we say the ensemble is one of the most important parts of the show. Ensemble members often have the most stage time, the majority of the singing and dancing, and play a critical role in the overall success of a production.

Respect for the Casting Process

We recognize that casting can stir intense emotions. Disappointment is natural, but within a few weeks most students are simply happy to be in class, working together on the show. This is a normal and important part of the theater experience.

Zero Tolerance for Disrespect

We ask that all families respect the CTC team and the decisions made in casting. If a parent attacks or disparages a staff member about casting, your family may be asked not to return to CTC.
